Electric hellfire

So I started to gut the wiring yesterday. The factory stuff looked like you would expect almost sixty year old wiring to look like.

Fraying old corroded brittle junk. The part that concerned me, as it does most people with something like this, is will the stock wiring harness catch fire going down the highway and what has some jerk off fucked up?

Well, since it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see someone else has been into this harness...

The hot wire to the alternator should have a better connection than that. But that doesn't really matter when the wire is doubled over and stuffed into over sized butt connectors several times.

But at the end of the day, the scariest wire I found was the main lead from the ignition switch to the starter.

So now with the new kit from Speedway (only 140 and a damn good kit) the Olds will be well connected, grounded, and fire free.

Stay tuned.
